Legal Assistant â€" Trucking Insurance Defense (Temp-to-Perm)
Atlanta, GA Temporary $70000.00 - $85000.00 Onsite

Job Description

A premier Trucking Insurance Defense Firm in Midtown Atlanta is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support two of our busy paralegals. This is a Temp-to-Perm opportunity ("try before you buy") that offers a direct path to a long-term career with our growing firm.

Important Note on Structure: In this role, you will report directly to two Paralegals. This is a 100% administrative legal support role-there is no billing, no calendar management, and no travel coordination. Former paralegals looking to do substantive case work will not be a good fit.

What You Will Do (Pure Administration & Production)

  • Shell Creation: Draft and prepare answer and complaint shells immediately upon receiving new discovery.
  • Document Processing: Efficiently handle a high volume of non-party requests.
  • Practice Management: Utilize CLIO, PeachCourt, Odyssey, and federal e-filing systems daily to manage documents and ensure accurate fill-ins.
  • Workload Management: Support a caseload across 2 paralegals (averaging ~50 cases per paralegal, total caseload will remain under 100).

What We Need From You (Strict Requirements)

  • Experience: Direct experience in Insurance Defense is strictly required. We cannot accept candidates with exclusively Plaintiff-side or unrelated practice area experience.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with CLIO, PeachCourt, Odyssey, and Federal Court e-filing systems is a must.
  • Mindset: An administrative powerhouse who thrives on organization, file setup, and high-volume document preparation without the pressure of billable hour requirements.

Perfect Fit Profiles

  • The Early-Career Climber: Someone with a foundational background in insurance defense looking to sharpen their administrative skills and grow within a structured firm.
  • The Seasoned Professional: A highly experienced administrative professional who wants a stable, high-paying legal support role without the headache of tracking billable time, travel, or complex calendars.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status. We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the California Fair Chance Act, City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance, and San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
